Shifting Gears

The sign on the door reads: Mark Aalderink, CEO. The office reserved for Mark looks like one from a futuristic movie, pristine white with shiny surfaces and devoid of any decorations or other signs of a resident.

"Well, that was quick. Thanks for dropping by. I’m not much of an interior decorator, I know," Mark says almost apologetically, as he waves for you to come in. "I like things clean and I also prefer stuff to be digital and out of the way. Let me show you how far we’ve got with this thing." He points to the screen in front of him.

The Order Amount decision was scheduled to go into production next week, but you just received an e-mail from Mark based on a conversation he had with Loes.

Hi,

I’m thinking we need to incorporate a final data point into the order amount decision for T1 items (for now, maybe others in the future). Bram’s team got together with the inventory folks and it turns out we can get a hold of trend data for each SKU too.

Needless to say, if the trend is up, we should order earlier, especially for the online items.

I took a look at the decision model and prepared what I think we need with Loes, but we can’t figure out the details. Can you drop by to help out? I’d love to get this added before tomorrow, so the scrum team can merge it for the final sprint before this thing goes live.

Cheers, Mark

As you lean over to look at Mark’s screen, you can see the model’s DRD has already been updated.
