Are We There Yet?

The look on Loes' face as she walks up to your desk makes it obvious she is excited.

"Thanks so much for helping with the inventory levels", she starts. "I’ve been thinking on how to proceed and I think have an idea. You know, getting an accurate inventory level is great and all, but…​"

"…​ but it’s more useful in context of some other decision you’re trying to make?", you interject.

"Exactly! Let me show you what I’m thinking of." Loes walks over to the whiteboard and draws a rectangle after first trying, then throwing out at least three empty markers. The benefit is that the new decision that’s on Loes' mind is now in bright red.

"What we need to know, really, is when to order for each SKU and how much", she explains. "We need to evaluate the are we there yet? question every time an item goes out or gets reserved. I’m thinking that the inventory level is one of those…​ how did you call those again?"

"It’s a supporting decision for are we there yet?", you answer.

"Right." "Then there’s the storage tier."

"What’s the tier for?", you ask.
