Define Requirements
The new decision model has the Inventory Level in place as a supporting decision and the new top level decision called Order Amount. Start by connecting the two so the dependency is made clear.
The storage tier is used by Bolt to partition the warehouse. Because many bike parts that are kept in inventory are very small, whereas others are - relatively speaking - large, they have standardised on the storage racks and containers for items of approximately the same size. There are 4 tiers, aptly named T1 for the smallest up to T4 for the largest items.
As it turns out, Loes' team has not only been focussed on automating processes, but have also been digging into the data that all that automation generates. Where at first orders would be placed by Mark personally based on his availability and his gut feeling, they’ve now found out, that the amount of inventory that should lead to an order being placed can be directly correlated to the tier of the part in the warehouse.
Add the Storage Tier as an information requirement for the Order Amount decision in the DRD.
Next, we’ll add the decision logic for Order Amount.
